I Know Kung Fu

Sometime in the last couple of weeks, Kissy Sell Out has emerged out of the datastream and pulled us from our computer-screen induced comas, and many thanks have since been given to the datastream. Surprisingly not from Paris and still residing across the English Channel, Kissy Sell Out plays some really fun, ground-up, robot glitch rock. Kissy and a few other artists like Teenage Bad Girl and Does This Offend You, Yeah? seem to be setting the stage for an epic new electro civil war with the other (relatively) established artists with similar sounds ((cough cough) Ed Bangers! ((sneeze, sniffle) Vice))).

‘Permanent Record’ is the B side to ‘Her’ and is our favorite Kissy track yet. Scoop the EP here. Also, check out the hilariously titled ‘Keanu Reeves’ for some more Kissy goodness.
We had a discussion a while back about the disposability of recent music trends, electro in particular. Some of us held the opinion that all the hooks afforded a newfound accessibility to the world of electronica that was greatly appreciated, but that this very accessibility- once cognizant of this- dampened the lasting quality of the music. This is all bullshit, however, because all music is disposable, and the same thing can be said about graphic design or really most all art forms. If indeed life is all about the aesthetic, then just. Let. Go.
