Ellsworth Invades MMM! BK Sunchip Edition

Nice weather does wonders for morale and, maybe, dear god, something more. Witness the weekend that was McCarren Park, forty-eight hours awash in unkempt facial hair, Risky Business-era Ray Bans, and sticky summer dresses. Brooklyn’s near-instant transformation to bourgeois bohemia comes on the heels of Hot Chip’s show which- while not technically in Brooklyn- served the perfect seasonal introduction to fun-loving joy that’s equal parts spontaneity and creative collaboration. If Hot Chip were a sport, they would be softball: the more the merrier, good when drunk, more about the experience than contest. More than anything, both Hot Chip’s show and the park’s overabundant display of humanity offer hope of good things to come for the summer, less hung up on appearance, and more, hopefully, about having…fun?
