In all, the party was a success. Rumor has it someone even climbed into the party from fire escape. I overheard some critical ad-speak about the flyer, and when I pressed for specifics, this is what I received:
I guess my main feedback is that it was a little overwritten for what I take was essentially a private party. If you’re going to have a style with loads of rhetorical flourishes, you want to be self-deprecating. But if it had been actual PR copy, I would have said it was great! And the graphics were gorgeous. Does he do wallpaper?!
I can’t believe you told him we said that.
